Dedicated to helping the community, the Fairfield chapter of Habitat for Humanity has been active in rebuilding homes for residents to live in.  The first Habitat home, on West Broadway street, was dedicated in the spring of 1999, with Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack visiting.  A second home is currently being worked on in Fairfield.

These projects by Fairfield residents demonstrate the caring and concern that we have for our fellow community members.

  Earl Mason of Mason City (no relation!),Iowa visited Fairfield to educate Habitat members about how to build energy efficient homes.  He domonstrated many products and techniques for sealing and insulating homes.

Construction has begun on the newest Habitat home.  The foundation and walls are being prepared in this picture taken June 7, 2003.  The project will continue through the summer months.  Thanks to all those who are participating in the construction of this newest Habitat home project in Fairfield.
