Fairfield, Iowa
Established 1839
The City of Fairfield has a Mayor-Council form of municipal government,
with five wards represented and two at-large positions.
Ed Malloy is the current Mayor of Fairfield.

The City and FPAC
The Mayor is responsible for appointing members to the FPAC Committee,
which in turn is responsible for the policies and goals of the station.
FPAC receives primary funding from the City of Fairfield and
is part of the city budget. Budgets are submitted by the station
manager to the city council in late winter, for budget approval during
March of each year for the fiscal year beginning each July 1.
FPAC videotapes each city council
meeting, normally held the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month. The
proceedings are then cable cast over FPAC on the following Tuesday evening
at 8:30 p.m. (approximately) and Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
New ... LIVE showings of Fairfield City Council
meetings are being held on FPAC9 as of Feb. 2004.
This is a vital public service that FPAC offers the Fairfield
community, as it provides a record of proceedings for those unable to
attend and provides the community at large the opportunity to observe
issues and ideas being presented for public comment.
