Surprise award

Craff and her staff were out working when they were called in to the Roosevelt Community Recreation Center for the surprise gathering that included Mayor Ed Malloy, city administrator Jeff Clawson and city clerk Joy Messer. The award recognized Craff and her crew for keeping city parks looking trimmed and nice during the rainy summer.
Conservation board plans deer hunt, park improvements
Jefferson County Park will again be home to a deer hunt this fall. The annual deer hunt is held to reduce the deer population at the park, but since its first year it has seen its popularity wane. A date for the hunt has been tentatively set for Oct. 1 to Jan. 30.
Shallow gas lines hamper street work
The past two weeks of mostly dry weather has allowed contractors to make significant progress on Fairfield’s street projects.
